Assassin’s Creed and Lara Croft

ASSASSIN’S CREED

Issue 001, new comic that has come out recently.  Not what I expected at all in regards to the video game and the comic book.

assassin's creed #1

I am expecting the traditional Assassin’s Creed where your player is going around trying to stop or destroy some psycho, however, this comic is written in contemporary times and played out as if it is from some secret organization.

Char plays a virtual video game until she finds out later on that members of an organization are looking for her to seek out the memories of her ancestry.  She is also being sought out by the bad guys so they whisk her away, after much fighting and slashing, to a safe haven.  She must unlock her memories while in the game so The Brotherhood can seek answers for themselves.

At first it was a little confusing because I wasn’t sure what was going on but the story was still enticing enough to keep reading.  The pages are very colorful, glossy and thick so the quality of the comic is very good.  The cover is ominous and the characters inside the comic is interesting.

This comic’s first start is a good indication that it may continue to succeed.

LARA CROFT AND THE FROZEN OMEN

Issue 001, new comic that also came out recently and it is pure Lara style.  Dangerous and confident woman who knows what she’s doing and is great doing it.

The first time I saw the awesome cover, I decided this comic is one that I would like to try out and read.  As good as the movies with Angelina Jolie, this reads as an exciting graphic novel that keeps you wanting to read more.  The pages are vibrant and good quality so turning each page is even a joy.  It is certainly worth the price and your time.

Lara is out helping a friend and when she gets back to the museum, she finds out that she needs to solve a mystery about a missing artefact.  With her skills in problem solving and kicking butt, she is sure to find out who is behind the theft.

Friday, April 3 – Games Day at Comic Cafe

games day 3

games day 1

Games Day was a fun event.  Sorry for those who ended up not being able to attend.

There were a few people who were able to turn up and several games were played.

We have a group of 5 people playing Magic The Gathering and I was able to play my game Relic as well as Roll for It – a fun dice game.

For those who missed the event, Comic Cafe holds a Games Night every Monday starting at 6pm.  The earlier you get to The Comic Café at 6pm the better so we can pair you up to play a game.  If you get there too late, you’ll either end up waiting for a group to finish or joining late in a game.

The later you arrive, the harder it is to sit you down with 2 + players to play a game.  If you come with a friend, then it’s easier to grab a game that is available and get to playing.  To accommodate you, please RSVP so we know who will be able to attend.

Thanks again for helping to make the day fun.

Hope to see you at another event!
